The Executive Chairman of Itire-Ikate LCDA has called on all residents, business owners and stakeholders to come out in full force for the May 2026 Environmental Sanitation Exercise slated for the last Saturday of the month, 6:30am – 8:30am.
Declaring that “a clean environment is not a luxury, it’s a necessity,” the Chairman said the success of the exercise depends on the participation of every citizen. Movement will be restricted during sanitation hours except for essential services, in line with Lagos State Government directives.
Why Your Participation Matters:
Health First: Clearing drainages and removing refuse prevents flooding and disease outbreaks during the rainy season.
Community Pride: A clean Itire-Ikate attracts investment, boosts local business and improves quality of life.
Collective Responsibility: “Service over politics. Results over excuses. People over everything,” the Chairman reiterated. This is about us, not just government.
Ward Councillors, CDAs, CDCs, market leaders and youth groups have been mobilized to lead activities in all wards. Residents are expected to sweep surroundings, clear gutters in front of homes/shops and dispose of waste only at approved points.
The Chairman commended the Council Manager and Sanitation Department for early logistics and sensitization, mand appealed to all residents to join hands. “Your participation will be greatly appreciated and will speak volumes for your support for good governance in Itire-Ikate,” he stated.
“Let’s make May 2026 the month Itire-Ikate sets a new standard for cleanliness,” he urged. “When we clean together, we grow together.”
E-Signed,
Hon. Oluwafemi Daniel Odunayo
Executive Chairman
