The Executive Chairman of Itire-Ikate Local Council Development Area, Hon. Oluwafemi Daniel Odunayo, has welcomed teachers, students and parents across public and private schools in the LCDA back to school for the third term commencing Monday, May 4, 2026.
In his resumption message, Hon. Odunayo described teachers as “molders of destinies and the true architects of our future”, commending their dedication, patience and sacrifice in nurturing young minds. He urged them to continue discharging their duties with passion, discipline and professional excellence.
Addressing students, the Chairman charged them to see the third term as a fresh opportunity to pursue academic excellence. He admonished them to shun truancy, cultism and all forms of social vices, while remaining focused, respectful and committed to their studies. “The future you dream of starts with the effort you put in today. Be good ambassadors of your families and Itire-Ikate LCDA,” he stated.
To our Parents and Guardians:
Thank you for your sacrifices and partnership in raising the next generation. As schools resume, I urge you to play your part: provide for your wards, monitor their activities, support their learning at home and collaborate with school authorities. A child’s success is a shared responsibility between the home, the school and the community. Let us work together to keep our children in class and away from harm.
Hon. Odunayo reiterated that education remains a cardinal priority of his administration. He reaffirmed the council’s commitment to continuous investment in school infrastructure, provision of learning materials, teachers’ welfare and training, and the creation of a safe, conducive learning environment for all pupils.
