Lagos Assembly Applauds Odunayo as 7 Roads in 7 Wards Pass Inspection in Itire-Ikate

Committee commends roads, drainages, street lights, school upgrade, and education interventions

The *Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Project Inspection, led by Hon. Sanni Okanlawon, Member representing Kosofe Constituency, has applauded the Executive Chairman of Itire-Ikate LCDA, Hon. Oluwafemi Daniel Odunayo, for delivering 7 strategic roads across the 7 wards of the council.

During the visitation, the committee expressed satisfaction with evidence of delivery on roads, drainages, and street lights across the LCDA. The lawmakers said all projects were visible, verifiable, and aligned with due process.

“No infraction was found. One strategic road in each of the 7 wards shows a deliberate, community-driven approach to grassroots development,” the committee stated.

Infrastructure and School Upgrade Admired
The committee also verified the filling and flooring works at Aguntoasolo Primary School, which it described as “full of admiration.” Lawmakers noted that the upgrade has improved the learning environment for pupils.

Education Interventions Commended
Beyond infrastructure, the committee lauded the council’s education services. These include:

  1. Back-to-School initiative: Distribution of school bags and books to pupils
  2. Summer Holiday Programme: Vocational training in ICT and artisan works for youths

“This reflects a balanced approach: fixing infrastructure while investing directly in our children and young people,” the committee said.

Grassroots Governance in Action
The lawmakers described the delivery as “uncommon and people-centred.” They noted that the projects have reduced travel time, improved safety with street lights, enhanced drainage, and created opportunities for pupils and youths in all 7 wards.

Chairman’s Response
Hon. Oluwafemi Daniel Odunayo said the results were intentional.

“We promised to touch every ward, and we have kept that promise. From roads and drainages to street lights and schools, and now to bags, books, and vocational skills, we are building a community-driven government that leaves no one behind,” he said.

The Executive Chairman further narrated how his administration has maintained a secured and enabling environment to drive sustainable domestic growth across Itire-Ikate.

He assured residents that the administration would sustain the momentum with more infrastructure and human capital development.
