INEC EXTENDS PVC REGISTRATION DRIVE TO ITIRE, IKATE AND IJESHA COMMUNITIES

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the continuation of its Permanent Voters’ Card (PVC) registration exercise in Itire, Ikate and Ijesha communities, Lagos State. The drive, aimed at ensuring all eligible citizens are registered to vote, will cater to new registrants, individuals with misplaced PVCs and those seeking to update their registration details.

Residents of Itire, Ikate and Ijesha with misplaced PVCs or requiring a change of address are encouraged to take advantage of the ongoing exercise. Additionally, individuals with faint or damaged PVCs can also re-register. “We urge all eligible residents to seize this opportunity to exercise their civic right to vote and be voted for,” said a statement from INEC. “The PVC is a vital document that serves as a license to participate in the democratic process.”

In an interview, the Executive Chairman of Itire-Ikate LCDA, Hon. Oluwafemi Daniel Odunayo stated, “We are doing everything possible to ensure our people enjoy the franchise and benefits from dividends of democracy. That’s why the Local Council Development Area has intensified the process of INEC registration at the communities.”

The registration exercise is being conducted at communities in Itire, Ikate, and Ijesha. The public is advised to come with necessary documents. The commission encourages all citizens to participate in the registration process to be eligible to vote in the forthcoming 2027 elections.
