The Executive Chairman of Itire–Ikate Local Council Development Area, Hon. Oluwafemi Daniel Odunayo, on Wednesday, attended the decoration ceremony of newly promoted officers of the Police Mobile Force, Unit 24 Presidential Escort (PR-Escort), held at the State House Annex, Ikoyi, Lagos.
The event, characterized by joy and camaraderie, celebrated the professionalism, discipline, and dedication of officers whose outstanding service earned them promotion. As Special Guest of Honour, Hon. Odunayo commended the Nigeria Police Force for its steadfast commitment to protecting lives and property nationwide. He congratulated the newly decorated officers, describing their elevation as a testament to their hard work, perseverance, and loyalty to duty.
The highlight of the ceremony was the formal decoration of the promoted officers by the Unit Commander, SP Edun Oluseye Michael. Among those decorated were SP Giwa Ahmed, ASP Luji Adewale, ASP Kado Mathew, ASP Maiyama Chiwar, ASP Opaogun Samuel, ASP Salami Yusuf, and ASP Abu Patrick, all recognized for their meritorious contributions to national security.
In his remarks, Hon. Odunayo urged the officers to see their promotion as a call to greater responsibility and renewed dedication to service. He emphasized the importance of professionalism, integrity, and community engagement as crucial tools for sustaining peace and fostering trust between security agencies and the public.
